About Us

Aztec Realty and Investments is a multifaceted company offering a variety of real estate brokerage, property management, and finance related services to markets in the McAllen, TX, Hidalgo County, and Rio Grande Valley areas of deep South Texas.  Our home office is located in McAllen, TX, and was started by our founder, Jerry J. Box, in 1972.  Looking for a slower pace of life, Jerry left Dallas, TX to move to what was then a mainly agricultural based economy on both sides of the Rio Grande River. 

As the area economy diversified, and the Maquiladora & Twin Plant concept of manufacturing in Mexico continued to expand and the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) was inacted, the Borderland  area of Hidalgo, Cameron, and Starr Counties grew exponentially.  During these years Aztec Realty and Investments was involved in the growth of the area as a commercial real estate brokerage and real estate development company.  Jerry, along with his assistant, worked as a two person operation for many years, all the while serving as an active community member, and involved family man to his wife and three boys. Then in the year 2000, Jerry's youngest son, Blake J. Box, joined the company after working with a variety of other real estate, construction, and finance related companies.  

Through the first decade of the 2000s, Aztec Realty and Investments has continued to serve the commercial real estate markets of Hidalgo County and deep South Texas.  We continue to operate as a family owned and managed enterprise, offering Real Estate Brokerage services for investment, commercial, industrial, raw land, agricultural, and recreational use properties.  Aztec Realty and Investments is also involved in property investments for our own account and syndication partnerships, as well as new real estate project development & construction, property management & leasing, and estate management & liquidation services.
